Runzhou Tao is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Maryland and a Fellow at the Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science (QuICS). He obtained his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 2024, advised by Ronghui Gu, and his Bachelor's degree from the Yao Class at Tsinghua University. He builds the software stack — programming languages, operating systems, and formal verification — for quantum computers.
The lab is newly formed and actively growing. Current student and postdoc profiles will be added here as they join.
